Small Businesses Are Hiring | |

|
|
Small businesses in the United States are feeling quite optimistic these days. That's translating into more hiring by small businesses.
The National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) reports that small businesses added 0.4 workers on average during March alone. And another survey, this one by Challenger, Gray & Christmas, reports that small business hiring was up 25% during the first three months of 2004. Jobs figures for small businesses are especially important indicators. That's because small businesses are responsible for roughly three-quarters of all net new job growth in the United States, according to the Small Business Administration. |
